Flew from Bangkok to Yangon this morning. Arrived and taxi'ed straight to Yoma Hotel where I met Lello and his Burmese friend Te Nu, a very sweet young woman who hung out with us for the afternoon - helping with changing money at the market 'behind the scenes' at a store selling jade ornaments; buying a SIM (& phone, as it turned out) in the department store; visiting a temple; and playing games at the 1970's-like Happy World pseudo entertainment park.
Cannot access any email other than Gmail (Yahoo email and FB email don't work from here), nor can I get to my Blog directly. I hope posting by email works! Would you please email me on my gmail account if you read this, to let me know? Thanks!
